Last night, Blossom Music Center was packed to capacity with a
diverse crowd that came to see Motley Crue’s farewell tour. The youngest
audience member looked to be about 5 years old and the oldest appeared
to be about 70. Both knew how to rock out. The
evening started with a short set by the up and coming band the Raskins,
a group that features brothers Logan and Roger Raskin. Their set
was straight-up rock ’n’ roll and included their best song, “We Had It
All.” Alice Cooper, the king of shock rock and one of the founders of
horror rock, followed with a basic greatest hits packages that included
“18,” “Poison,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “School’s Out” and many more
hits. New female guitarist Nita Strauss joined longtime guitarist Ryan
Roxie and the two complimented each other very well. The legendary Crue
hit the stage next in a blaze of light and smoke and immediately took
fans down memory lane. The hits just kept coming and included “Saints of
Los Angeles,” “Wild Side,” “Primal Scream,” “Looks That Kill,” “Without
You,” “Dr. Feelgood,” “Shout at the Devil” and “Kickstart My Heart”
before concluding with “Home Sweet Home.”
